Au Québec, 76% des personnes issues de minorités affirment faire face à du racisme systémique. Malgré les nombreux rapports et les événements malheureux qui témoignent de sa présence, notre premier ministre François Legault refuse toujours de le reconnaître. Le moment était venu d’agir afin qu’on ne puisse plus douter de la présence du racisme systémique au Québec.
We worked around Google Maps functionalities to create our campaign hub, and we literally put systemic racism on the map, right in front of the Parliament Building. We then invited people to share their first hand testimony by writing a review.
We also shared content from established activists. Together, they encouraged the Quebec population to ask WHY? systemic racism still exists in Quebec and WHY? the government doesn't want to acknowledge it.
Our hub got so much attention that after only a few days, Google Maps removed our pin as well as the hundreds of reviews that testified to the experiences of people from minority groups. So, we moved the conversation to a place that can never be erased.
